The Seed is the beginning of all flowers, all plants – all dreams and all reality. I see it as a symbol of divine inspiration: the beginning that also includes the end. For the past few years in meditation, I have been praying to be a flower: to bloom and to blossom. Praying for the fruits. But first, for months, I was shown roots, then stem, trunk, then branches – and eventually, the first signs of leaves. Eventually, flowers. Moving through all the stages is necessary, for ideas to come to fruition. And all stages are held within the seed. 

This painting is a composition I saw in meditation which I am sure was influenced by a summer visit to the Georgia O’Keefe museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was completed at home in Joshua Tree, CA. The painting ships framed with hanging hardware installed. Please note this painting is included in my show, “from dreams i had of flowers” at 29 Palms Art Gallery and will ship first week of October, after the show closes.
