Commissioning a piece is perfect if you have a specific space in mind or love my work but haven’t quite found the perfect piece. Through commissions, we work collaboratively to design something that is custom for your space.

We’ll start by determining the feeling, color palette, or gestural abstraction that feels particularly resonant to you by looking at which past works of mine you like and/or your space itself. Whether you’re commemorating a wedding, a new family member, your first office or just have an awkward wall that needs some love, a commissioned piece is personal and something I hope will be in your family for generations.

Payment terms are 50% upon concept approval and 50% upon completion, prior to shipping. For reference, a 24” x 30” canvas is $1300, 42” x 24” (perfect for above a bed) is $2000. Custom sizes and custom framing are also available.

eXAMPLE commission: “extraordinary amidst chaos print”

A client wanted to commission an original print as a corporate gift for his coworkers. The project included the original work (11” x 14”) and 88 signed, numbered prints.

We worked with the phrase, “Extraordinary Amidst Chaos.” The client was drawn to a very abstract style and wanted to depict boldness and strength, despite a chaotic year. His desired color palette was red with accents of black and grey.

I found the phrase perfectly evocative and created a chaotic work that still felt uplifting because of the bright colors. Additions of lighter grey and gold gave the painting depth.

The client has recently relocated to Utah and is very inspired by its desert and mountain landscape. She has requested a painting in the style of my painting Depth: an abstract, female nude but in the color palette similar to the above photo. I find this to be a great balance of prescription (style, color palette) and freedom (size, gesture) for a commission.
