A self-portrait under my favorite desert willow tree. This particular desert willow is where I sit under to meditate most mornings. During these meditations, I often see full images which then become compositions for my paintings. I sometimes feel it is the tree and her flowers themselves, giving me these images; sometimes as I sit, the flowers fall and find their way onto my lap.

This painting was concepted and completed at my summer residency at Sunlit Ranch in Tucumcari, NM. The painting ships framed with hanging hardware installed. Please note this painting is included in my show, “from dreams i had of flowers” at 29 Palms Art Gallery and will ship first week of October, after the show closes.
